Well first test build and ride has been done. All good points on the masking off of canti bosses and threads. Sounds like it would make sense to use a metal brush and remove it off those bits.
Things to do. Rewrap bar tape as my idea of removing the old brake levers and put the black levers on hasn’t worked well. Mount the dynamo lights. Cut down the steerer tube.
Positives to take Away from it are the comfort of tyres even across the poor roads of south Oxfordshire

With a pending milestone, it was time to give the pompino some TLC after being roughed up over the last year. First thing first was to strip it down, so off came all the parts which highlighted the TLC it needed. It turns out that caustic soda ruins paint work as well gets stuck seat posts out of steel frames. Next thing was off to friendly neighbourhood paint sprayer. The frame and forks are a nice candy blue with a bit of sparkle.

Parts to go on are the Shimano deore xt v brakes, some black tektro v brake levers, pista vera chainset and jack brown folding tyres. The steerer tube needs cutting down also.
