interesting. my thinking is that if there's any uneveness on the ground, it would be more stable to lift the back wheel. Also convenient for punctures

I took my cargo bike with dodgy Enviolo hub in for repair on Monday. They said they'd not come accross this problem before and would contact Enviolo. I guess Enviolo are in lock down. Looks like I'm gonna be without it for 2 or 3 months.

my main concern is reliability. for the first 4 months I had no technical issues. Lately I've been glad to still have my old diesel van.
Tried just going up & down my (flat) road.... How long is it going to take to get the 10 miles from Southgate to Camden, potentially walking it up hills?

and Rohloff? Are they £800 better?

Re my Nuvinci hub. I'm also pretty sure that is causing all the problems. Trouble is, if it can't be sorted out & remain reliable, I can see I'll be shelling out for a new wheel/hub-gears to replace something that has a two year manufacturers warranty (18 months left)

Only recently got a camera on the cargo bike and filed my first dangerous driving report to The Met. I was surprised to receive an email that a Notice of Intended Prosecution has been sent to the registered keeper within 3 days. Hope they get some sort of fine for cutting me up.

Then two days later a fellow thought it would be a laugh to drive straight at me, then leave a couple of inches leaway. Hopefully he will live to regret his little quip.

Just tried to turn right from a main road into a B road and the pedals just spun round as a van was speeding towards me. I had to jump off and pushed it. Lucky the load wasn't too heavy, or on a hill. In the side road I tried several times and the pedals either spun free or the gearing just slipped with a clonk, then spun. Eventually got it goin by turning power off then on. Don't feel confident enough to risk using it now.
It's going in for a first service on Monday. I'll be interested to hear what their oppinion is. Not looking forward to the 10 mile ride to the shop - if I don't have to stop I should be ok

spoke (typed) to Christina at Flying Dutchman Bikes today and she advised trying are-set on the 3-button cadence control on handlebars. So far seems to be working ok. (fingers crossed)

NB, If I eventually end up paying for manual, I would probably splash out on Rolhoff hub
