Wow, I never knew bungee were so contentious. I've been using them, & ratchet straps & ladder clamps for over a decade with no prob. The ratchet straps I find good for heavy loads but not as convenient as bungees

Interesting. As a relative newcomer to cargo bike riding I was concerned about sidewind, however I've hd more grief from headwind. I find if I'm loaded up & not too light the mass seems to cancel out the sideways movement.

My next cargo-box (only just built this one so don't hold your breath) will be a bit more aerodynamic

My first thoughts after a couple of week's use:
    • I can't usually filter up the inside of traffic 'cos it's 70cm wide, and when I do drivers get really shirty - much more than when I'm on a bike.
    • If I don't keep a nice straight line & wobble a bit they give you much more room overtaking.
    • Keep the electric assistance low when crawling along in traffic.
    • Must try & remember to keep speed down so power assistance stays on

Did first job using a medium size step ladder today - it fitted on lid as planned though I'm already planning the next box to build. Probably a bit narrower, a bit lower & sloping down towards the front.

Impatient Audi twat overtaking in narrow road with oncoming car, cut in really close & I swerved to adood collision. Here's the angle alu ski.

When I checked the load it had hardly shifted. Thankfully no paint spilled either
