Have done all of the above apart from torqued... so could be the reason.
It's my only carbon steerer so very possible user error if I'm needing to treat it differently to aluminium.
Have just faffed and retightened, adding extra spacer for good measure over steerer. Will see how it goes, when I'm eventually commuting again. Reminded me that the expanding nut assembly looks wrong every time I see it...but I don't know any better. Certainly looks like top surface should be flush with top of steerer right?

Long shot, but does anyone (probably either Evans staff or @jameso) remember there being an issue on 2015 Arkose fork steerers/headsets.
Mine has always been virtually impossible to keep reliably tight, and I'm sure I saw something a few years ago about the issue.
All other bikes are fine so assuming no user error here. Can tighten headset, good for a few days they inevitable slop comes back. Hasn't bothered me for a few years as it was turbo bike, but back commuting on it again and it's annoying.
Not exactly looking for a refund but wondering if a new headset would do the trick, or if new fork is necessary.

Undecided on bags, I’m mainly after it to strap my d lock to for th commute to be honest. But might end up making better use of it later on for ‘proper touring’.
