My gym has a sliding cable type leg press machine and a pivoting plate loaded leg press, does anyone know what the benefits of each type are?

I tried the pivoting version for the first time the other day and felt like the resistance wasn't as linear as with the sliding version - much harder to move with the knee at 90º and then much easier as it extended.

I only use them for single leg work so am not limited by the 225-250kg limit of the cable machine. Any difference between them worth noting?

It was my first time back on Monday after a break of a few months.
I can tell you that the DOMS is much worse on second day; at least it is for me.
I'm fine if as long as I don't move.

Joe Truman said he was limited to 55x14 as the biggest gear for his recent keirin season.
13t is definitely NJS so that might mean the gear is limited on rollout.
Think I spotted a 45t DA NJS chainring and Sugino make Zens larger than 55t but are not NJS.

Yeah, cleaned the threads on the cups & shell before installing. The BB I swapped out was fine too.

Out of interest does anyone know if there are any restrictions on NJS gearing options? Is there a gear inch limit or a restricted use on certain sprocket or chainring options?
Can you get 12/13t & 45t/56t NJS stamped parts?

There's no obvious play, it only creaks with quite a bit of force going through cranks. Have greased the axle (and bearings) which kept things quiet until hitting the first hill when it came back. Think I will attempt a bearing swap. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks, yes there is. I think it is the interface between the bearing and axle that is creaking (or possibly between bearing and cup). Shimano I thought used a delrin top hat type shim between the axle and bearing which is probably better able to minimise any potential fit issues.
Happy to swap out the bearings for new but not worth it if it's a bit of a design issue. Have you had a good experience with the Hope BB?

    Hope Stainless Steel Bottom Brackets

I was gifted a used one these that has quickly developed a creak. Is it worth swapping out the proprietary bearings or is the design (no shim between 24mm axle and bearing) prone to creaking?
