It is. Apparently it will do a 34 tooth at the rear with the derailleur. Feels like there's a bit of drag and some noise from the chain, which I figured was because it was too short. And the rear derailleur is pretty stretched out there.

    Nothing's on fire yet...
Yeah, was using big-big to illustrate the derailleur at maximum stretch.

It split into 5 parts. The main hook section, two washer/spacers and washers with a flange. I think I initially put them back together the wrong way in that picture. Have swapped the flanged/shouldered washers round. Think I've cracked it now.
What's the worst that could happen...

From gears to brakes... This block that retains the brake cable in the lever. The ends are loose and kind of pop off. Is that right? Is it fixable, or am I better off binning it off?
    It's an old 6600 (?) Ultegra

Quick question (I suspect that I know the answer deep down).

    Is this chain too short?

Derailleur capacity question. I've got a road link extender thingy I use on a bodgy 1x10 set-up at the moment.
I now want to add an Ultegra double chainset. Will the capacity of the 6700 ss rear derailleur be able to handle a 12-34 cassette with 50-34 on the front?
According to Shimano it's max capacity is 33t. I calculate the set-up being 38t. I know Shimano are often conservative on this stuff, but am I wasting my time before even giving it a whirl?

I’m trying make life a bit easier on my knees and am thinking about adding some more gears onto my bike using the odds and sods in the parts bin.

    I’m currently using a set of 600 cranks with a narrow-wide chainring.
I’ve discovered an Ultegra 6700 fd. Does anyone know whether I could use the fd with the 600cranks (obviously once I’ve got the two chainrings on there as well)?

    Thanks

Thanks for the info. Have taken a punt on an m5 twin pack.
Hopefully it'll get me better than the current 2meg download in the kitchen!

Interested in anyone's experience of the TP-Link Deco mesh units. Do I need to splash the cash on the M9 (as the TP Link website seems to suggest) or can I get away with the M4?
I'm using the internets for wfh and normal stuff (Teams calls are probably the most intensive thing I use it for).
    Any experience/advice gratefully received.
