Because he appears to be stepping outside of his comfort zone. He's shown very little interest in the Giro previously, and now that he's got the Vuelta he's always wanted, the easiest thing to do would have been to chase the record for the most Tour de France wins. Instead, he's taking on the challenge of winning three consecutive grand tours, and fair play to him

His fifth tour can wait; if he wins the Giro, then he'll simultaneously hold all three Grand Tour jerseys, which would be quite something.

Wow - it's very well proportioned for such a large frame.

My other half refers to all her cars as male: - "Look at Francis - he could do with a wash," she might say.

Personally, I don't go in for anthropomorphisation of any kind.

I love this bike! What size is it?

Winter schmuck more like. Summer brings dust, which just as filthy, and you can always wipe them down, depending on the material. I would recommend Selle Italia Controllo Gel tape to go with that Flite saddle.

What's winter got to do with it?

White would pick out nicely with the lettering on the frame.

Does that mean they will they be allowed to have beards for reasons other than aesthetics?

In a biologically taxonomic sense, there is only one 'race' of humans. The genetic variations between someone from Scotland, say, and somebody in Gambia, say, are no more or less than between said Scottish person and someone in, say, Bulgaria.

'Race' is a shorthand for 'ethnicity', which means the culture and the distinct traditions of particular social group.
