I know nothing about wheels, would the Hope 20Five-Rs4 be a sensible upgrade on the Hunt 4 Seasons or is it much of a muchness?

I've got both & I can't tell the difference when rolling beyond hub noise. If I was going on a big adventure I'd take the Hope, for no-other reason than brand trust and knowing a few people who have cracked hunts.

I wouldn't buy the Hope as an upgrade if you already own the Hunts, unless you want anodised hubs, then it's an easy choice.

Have Rutlands in 650bx47c, TL setup was real easy, have only used on two weekends away, can't comment on longevity but they were fine on a gravel, tarmac & mud mix.

I don't know the Ramparts but the fact that GK SKs are a bit of a pain
to setup, to me, implies quite a supple tyre which "normally" equates
to faster. But then you obviously have tread impact and stuff so this
is a bit of a fluffy opinion.

There is also a chance I'm now better at fitting TL and using better tape. Any perception I have on ride quality/speed is all fluff when not trying them out on the same day.

Not quite the same but I've just taken off some Gravel King SKs 700x38c (measured 40c) and replaced with Teravail Ramparts in 700x38c (measure 36c). Different tyres but the ramparts were much nicer to setup tubeless and are much nicer to ride (could be placebo).

Couldn't see a hub thread... any experts on free hub noise here?
Trying to find out what Novatech D412SB are like. Youtube videos are not much use, 1 wheel in isolation spun indoors is not the same as on the road.

How would they compare with, e.g.
DT350 - make a noise on the bike when spun, can barely notice on the road when riding.
Hope RS4 - a little louder then the DT350 but won't get in the way of a conversation.
DT180 EXP- WHAT DID YOU SAY, STOP FREEWHEELING AND TRY AGAIN

Trying to recommend something quiet for a friend that LB might stock and can be configured TA front, QR rear without being mega spendy. https://www.lightbicycle.com/newsletter/Light-Bicycle-Bike-Hub-List-of-2020.html

Reckon I will just go with it. Way too many options to mess about with and seems like a solid option.

It works, the bikepacking features are a nice touch, if you can afford just do it and save yourself hours/days of research.
