Any tips for keeping a nice slow pace for those long aerobic runs? Seems a bit of a silly question but all too often find my self just pushing myself a little faster and suddenly Kms gone and the breathing is a fair bit harder! Really trying to build a solid base layer of fitness but too tempting to gun it harder.
More self discipline perhaps?
On the plus side some lovely miles today down the canal to lime house, the tow path by Victoria park was even semi tolerable!!

Long time lurker first time caller...
Have been a non committed dabbler for a number of years, and finally picked up my mileage a bit last year and upped my furthest distance to 20km. Unfortunately probably overdid it and managed an adductor strain and plantar fasciitis 2 months apart which disrupted things somewhat.
This year is the year to crack on - finally got some gait analysis booked in (albeit virtually via runandbecome) as I suspect I have a slight instep; and scored a place for the Berlin Mara of it goes ahead!
Completely underestimated the meditative effect of lacing up and putting some miles in, really missed it when sidelined!

What a difference a proper fitting pair of shoes makes! Got some Brooks Ghosts through today on gait analysis recommendation and felt like I was sailing along on pillows - made me realise how little cushioning my old pegasus' have. Weirdly seemed to be quicker aswell!
