@samrensho yeah a prestretched tub in the back pocket isn't any trouble. Oh and the ride is just sublime....
@greeno cheers. Next/final stage would be Darimo bars, stem and post for another 250g. SSE HM frame and forks for another 250g, the temptation is strong..... but I really love it right now.

First ride on my freshly lightened 2019 SSE. 5.85kg right now, to think it was 8.65kg new with the Shimano 105 groupset and Askiums. This bike is now a world away from its humble beginnings 😉

I know, a pretty decent saving over the DA9100 cassette. The YT link from the seller states 5000km without any noticeable increase in wear or noise, in my case with the very little use expected of it (this wheelset is tubular and not worth the risk for full on day rides) it should last indefinitely. I've a couple of pretty steep hills near me that I'm trying to better my times up gradually and it's solely for that use.

I've used alloy cassettes since the 90s in previous WW quests so am well aqauinted with super smooth shifts when it comes to delicate parts like these, I'm pretty careful across all my bikes with regards to shifting, certainly not a smasher. My Park Tool chain checker is never far from my bikes and often used.
Regarding the hubs, the wheels were an unplanned WW mini project, they came up at a price I couldn't turn down and are basically unused and so light and like I said was also built with a budget in mind. The Bitex RAF10/RAR9 ultralight hubs are known to me as I have the non ultralight version (steel freehub) on a gravel wheelset and they are bombproof.
For £300(!) all in I have a very light wheelset that you'd have to spend at least £1400 on (ZED??) and a cassette that shifts as good as the DA9100 it replaced. This wheelset will perhaps get 10% use compared to my main wheelset so I expect the cassette to have a pretty long life.

In my addiction, I mean quest for weight weenieing my bike I came across these cassettes in many searches. Of course the weightweenies forum threw up pretty much all of the results but I thought I'd post up some info from my personal experience and for fellow addicts looking at seriously lightening their bike, also there's nothing on here as yet....

The company https://bdopcycling.com/ are a Taiwanese company I'd never heard of but their product, an alloy 11-30 cassette in my case caught my interest. At 117g versus 207g for a DA9100 11-30 and around £150 delivered I had to look into this. In the end I think it took 10 days to get here, missing any customs charges although it was marked as 500 Taiwanese dollars so although I've not worked it out they may have put the value at a lower figure to clear charges.
The quality of the machining is unbelievable, it's machined from a single billet and of course as light a feather in your hand. Nearly all reports on the WW forum commented on how the shifting was OK, I have a new DA chain and Red rear derailleur and on adjusting and riding I simply couldn't believe the shifting, I've managed to get it so sweet, the chain has just been waxed which may have helped, but I'm not suffering any noise either.
I do of course understand the wear rate I'm likely to experience with this cassette but it is fitted to my 1050g tubular 'Hill climb' wheelset that will not see much use, if I'm honest I bought/built this wheelset mostly to see what weight I could get on a (relative) budget. I am really really happy with this purchase!
