Agreed, Pink Moon can be a difficult listen once you’ve read about how low he was when it was recorded, and you can hear it in his voice. It’s still my favourite album of his, despite being unbearably sad.

As for ND tunings, BEBEBE or gtfo.

There’s been a few Schecters that have caught my interest recently, which is unusual. They’ve been mixing it up a bit. My favourite is probably the PT Special

Looking good. What did you use for the belly cut?

I know someone who has done that with a 1960 Jazzmaster.

I have come so close to clicking 'buy' on that M9M, the price is astonishing. But I don't need it, I already have a Martin 000-15M, and it would just take up space. But still...

The M9M definitely the one to have, even at double that price.

It has solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, the others will all have ply back and sides ('whitewood') which isn't necessarily bad, just not as nice as an all-solid guitar.

Awww yeah. Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, early Wilco (and later Wilco as well, let’s be honest), just beautiful.

Man, I’d be overwhelmed with that many tonal possibilities, but bassists do love that stuff. It’s going to be a proper beast! It’s one of several impending guitars on here that I can’t wait to see.

I wonder how a leopard/tortoiseshell pickguard would look?

Probably pretty good, but I’m trying to steer away from a trad Fender look, despite the design obviously being influenced by Fender offsets (although there’s a little bit of Gibson and Rickenbacker mashed in there). That said, I’d love to make a 6-string version with a shiny control plate, double P90s and a mint 3-ply pickguard in Candy-Apple Red. Maybe that’ll be next.

My design is slowly approaching the point where I can stop tinkering and start building. I hope.

Along with switching in a set of Firebird pickups, I redesigned the pickguard with a sweeping curve at the bottom. I couldn’t work out how to attach a control plate, so I’ve left it out. Does it work, or do I need to rethink?
