I'm not sure it's as big an issue as your relative makes out. When I was an estate agent (hackney) we sold lots of properties that were directly next to council/HA properties. Of course, this put some people off but was much less of an issue if the property was a flat over say a house. The buyers looking at the flats would generally be younger, first-time buyers etc. and this was less of a concern.

If the property is decent and in a good spot I wouldn't rule it out and I don't think it would make it significantly more difficult to sell in the future.

Can't you just book a train where all of you reserve all 4 bike spaces?

I think this happened to me when I rode to Edinburgh a few years ago. It worked out about 735km but I think at the time I could only select a 600 so ended up essentially going 135km over for the 6 points. I messaged Paul Stewart about it beforehand and he was cool. Think there might be a 700 option now for DIY?

You may already know this but midges really are unbearable. We were lucky as we only had a really small bit of rain the first day and after that, we didn't see them at all. Is it May you're going? I've heard they're not that active then but probably worth taking some spray. Avon Skin So Soft seems be well regarded by locals.

Yeah...Have enquired about the Pan Celtic Race as a backup and they have a waiting list. Shame, as the bit that really appealed (Ireland) they've now removed so it's more through Wales.

Just had a look at this route, looks interesting. Possible on 28mm?

There's some good stuff going on here but that rear valve has killed it for me, quite upsetting.
