  Hello everyone, I'm a friend of Alex's and am very heartened to read your messages of support for him. I'm sure they have been passed on to him already but I'll make sure I remind him of the kind wishes from all of you - it's certainly a challenging time for him.

  Thanks to those lovely people who stayed with him until the emergency services arrived, it must have been a horrific thing to witness.

  I visited him at the weekend and am delighted to be able to report that his condition is improving and he is in good spirits.

  Thanks again for all the support you've given, and for being witnesses. That is truly invaluable. Nice to know there are some good souls out there!
