Ordered a cheaper head cam and need to get an SD card for it.

Spec is 'Supports MicroSD (TF) Card up to 16GB'.

As it's for commuting and writes over itself on a loop a 4 or 8 gig is enough for my needs, but I know there are different types. Any work better than others or any I should avoid / won't work with it?

Also the supplied battery is 'Powered by 3.7V 460mAh Li-ion Rechargeable battery'
Is it possible to extend the recording time by simply changing this to a higher rated mah AA Li-ion battery?

I came accross these via google search yesterday and ordered one too. Seem to be good for the price according to reviews.
I only want a camera to record any serious cut ups resulting in my injury (not to hound car drivers generally because I am one as well).
So not bothered if pic quality isn't great as long as it shows the car etc and sequence of events.

I think people get hung up on the latest stuff when if your not filming for utube etc why waste money.

Therefore even £50 is too much for my needs. Hopefully these will live up to the description.

    Evenin' all.

Had a sod of a day putting together a fixi (had mine stolen a couple of weeks ago).

Basically, 15 year old 531 frame
had some wheels hand built, Zenith hubs, Chrina rims, Dural rubber.
Chainset was all sorted and lined up. Unfortunately the new crank spider was out of true. After returning to the LBS it turns out the entire stock are the same and looks like a return of the lot to Stronglight. LBS has nothing else in that will do the job esp as chainring fitted on the inside.

So, I had, (and all lined up, spaced and chainlined), a Speedlight 170 crankset 130bcd with a Stronglight Zicral 42 teeth ring - fitted to the inside (frame side) of the spider to line correctly, mounted on to a new Stronglight 400 103mm BB.

I still have the BB but don't mind changing it as it was only £12 and can be kept in the drawer as a spare for something. The crankset and chainring have been returned.

So the question is what to replace the crankset and chainring with? The speedlight was good value for performance / weight I thought and looked good too.

Don't want to particularly start again with the rear end etc so what would be a similar replacement (and pref available now) to suit the frame and set up? The chainring will have to sit on the inside of the spider. The speedlight crankset was around £50 to 60 and the ring £25 I think. I want something decent but not a fortune to save 5 grams.

ps I've gone 3/32 rather than 1/8 on this one and would prefer to stay that way if poss.

    Any suggestions chaps(esses).

Connex chains are great, think I'm going to change to 3/8 then as have a spare connex 708 in the garage.

Probably put a Stronglight speedlight crankset and zicral stronglight chainwheel on and see whats in stock for the cog.

Understand the 1/8th is stronger but the rings and cogs seem to be cheaper and easier to obtain a bigger selection with 3/32 (ie shimano ss freewheel on a flip flop in 3.32, some BMX cogs) and as the 3/32 chains seem better now, at least some are, it seems sensible to use these as interchangeable with geared bike stuff so less to dedicate / store.
