You do know that lower emissions is a good thing? How long you've got left is anyone's guess, but legislation normally significantly affects new cars a long time before those already in the field. On the other hand restrictions like ULEZ may affect you faster, depending on where you live. I've had the same thoughts as you though and consider my current car to be my last petrol engined 'performance' one.

There's a lot to be said for getting a cheap in between car. I used to do this when I had more time, to buy myself time to choose the right thing & to save on losing out through part exchange. Always seemed more enjoyable searching for a sub £1000 car, loads about, less pressure to find the perfect vehicle and knowing that what you bought would basically have zero depreciation. Also fun to try something different. Had £60 Escort, £100 Fiesta, £400 Punto, £800 Puma and a bunch of others I can't remember now.

Received and tried the VE Monks yesterday. Good for earbuds, pretty similar to the Senn MX375 I felt although perhaps lows not quite as pronounced. Am perfectly happy with them, slightly cheaper too at £14 posted. With such a compromised design, can earbuds actually get much better than these pair?

I just picked the first picture I could find, but the 'replicas' tend to be real carbon just the same as unbranded bike frames. The bimmer one no doubt is genuine. £5k or something for the whole system? It's £2k even for my Abarth 595.

I doubt it. But Akrapovic carbon tips are all slip on and the RRP is around £600 for two, which might send some down that route..

I concur. Rapha merino works better than all others I've tried. Decathlon had some quite funky ones but thin material, probably OK for milder days.
