ha! the paddy lives! :) did you cold set it to 130? or just forced the wheel in?

some progress on the honky. i cut out all the stays and made the pieces to cover up the holes. my mate made the disc brake mount jig - some lathe action is still needed, but nearly there (the dummy axle is there to space the frame from 130 to 135, so the brake mount is parallel to the disc and doesn't toe inwards after inserting the wider hub)

thanks, would appreciate it (i think it's easier to measure than to swap it given the current circumstances)

this is bonkers.. :) also, sell me that seatpost! or could you just measure the cradle's diameter, please? i got one with missing parts and wanted to buy a new one for parts or make the bits myself..

i had one two years ago.. i stupidly moved it on to build the cheapsK/Late, but that ended up being too small and i was constantly worried about the tubes being dented when locking up..

a2c might be way off, but the dlr100 lefty i have can be height-adjusted (the bottom clamp isn't fixed). might have to limit travel, but i'll have to make a steerer tube first :)

    hello all,

since people seemed interested in the two kona frames i recently sourced, i thought i'd make a thread for them.

    honky tonk

i got this one because i really liked the geometry of my paddy wagon back in the day and i couldn't find a honky inc (factory disc version) that wasn't overpriced.. this will be the runaround bike. rival hrd group and 650x42 tires.

to fit the tires i need to cut the stays and i'll also add a disc tab.

yesterday i got together with my best mate and we started cutting everything up..

    explosif

this is the frame/bike i didn't even plan/want.. the £6.50 special :D 2002 true temper ox frame with ritchey dropouts (non-slidey) and disc mount. i have some bits that i'll be using on this, eg. a lefty fork (to be modded with a 28.6 steerer) and some 650b wheels.

we drilled out the rivet from the lefty's crown and tapped out the steerer - we turned a holder for the clamp and precision-angle-ground a channel so the clamp's notch would fit :)
