  Thanks that's great advice. Another question sorry, is there a risk connecting the laptop to my home network to do the cloud transfer?
  I cant remember the malware but I got some threatening message pop up many years ago.

  Bit of a thread derail.I need to transfer some photos from an old macbook that defo had some malware on it at some point before I stopped using it years ago. I'd like to put some of the photos on an android phone. What would be a safe way to transfer these and is there any risk the photos could be infected with any virus? Done a bit of googling but got mixed results.
