Anyone with Plusnet? Seems a good deal at the moment. I'm currently with EE but just at the end of the contract.

Or, wondering whether I should go for fibre. I've been happy enough with standard broadband for my basic use. What are the advantages?

Usual coffee order not arrived in post, so bought some Union beans from sainsburys. Seems to be quite a dark roast which is not working well with my V60. Any tips for getting the best out of these beans (grind size, temp etc) for a v60?

Cheers for the recommendation. Will take bug repellent etc.

Going to be in Edinburgh for 5 days in mid August. Other than some family stuff, pretty free to do as much cycling as I can. Looks like some local routes have been posted in the Edinburgh thread all doing loops south and/or a bit east/west of the city. I might check these out, but also am tempted to go north maybe towards Perthshire and do a few days proper touring staying in B&Bs if there's anywhere available.

Quite tempted to do some offroad too and try some of these routes if I decide to take my Vagabond: http://perthshiregravel.com/

But I guess probably safest option would be stick to road routes, due to weather and remoteness of those trails etc.

Any thoughts/ recommendations? Would the midges be intolerable?

Anyone else find SIDI dominators stiff and uncomfortable, especially the uppers? Tried out my old Mavics for comparison and even though they're pretty worn out (straps broken so can only fasten with ratchet etc) felt like like actually had some kind of padding in the upper which helped. The SIDIS upper is basically one stiff layer (had them for over a year so should have broken in). The sole/ stack height of the SIDI also feels really thick.

Tempted to go for something a bit more relaxed than a XC/ racing shoe next time. Having something a bit more practical kind of makes sense.

yes, thinking MTB is the way to go on the SDW - always glad when going for higher volume tyres there. On the other route though it seems more mixed. My gravel tyres are actually 43mm gravel kings which in dry weather wondering whether might be an option.

I'm going to be around this area soon and may do some of these routes, i.e the Strava route above and also some of the SDW on a different day. Will be riding a genesis vagabond have a choice of 40mm gravel tyres or proper 29er MTB tyres. Any recommendations as to which is best?

Still enjoying the park when it is open (weekdays) though. Completely different atmosphere when it's just humans/ human powered transport.
