knocking on my door every 20 minutes asking to borrow a hoover/broom/extension cable isn't minimising fuck all

Well not that impressed I’ve now just had to go upstairs into a dust filled apartment they’ve been working in all day to disconnect a fire alarm as they’ve fucked off without sorting it

Amidst all this over the last few weeks we’ve been having the roof redone in our building made up of 3 flats.

I’d consider having a watertight home fairly essential- but the roof itself was finished on the weekend.

They’ve still been coming in this week to do the cosmetic stuff to the water-damaged interiors. Not my flat but the flat upstairs ( in which the horsey owners have all ready fucked off for the duration to their in-laws in the country ) so they are traipsing through the communal hallways multiple times a day, coughing like there’s no tomorrow, setting the fire alarm off every 2 minutes with the sanding

I’m off work and now at home doing the right thing

Am I right in thinking this is fucking ridiculous? How is this essential work ? Why not just postpone it till this is over ?

I'm now offering this free to any NHS worker who needs to get around by bike - I'm just behind St. Georges in tooting if that helps.

It's fixed gear and can't be runs as SS (no rear brake) so prob not the best for complete cycling novices, but if anyone knows anyone who is in need let me know!

    Hey,

I work in two bike shops in London - It's actually been pretty busy last week, and as the shops are going to be staying open until told otherwise (could be days, a week who knows) How can we change our setup to protect staff and still maintain service? - Unfortunately we had lots of customers coming in with coughs/colds, kids running around touching everything like usual, customers not distancing themselves from staff etc. People trying on clothes then not buying and putting them back on display

Counter service? I.e block off the majority of shop and get customers requests for them.
Appointment basis/click and collect for bike sales? We can have them ready to go to minimise time spent in store
Bike fitting? hows that going to work (though demand is reduced obvs)

    Any ideas?

Was out in Tooting area yesterday and today food shopping - Sainsbury's and Lidl are a joke, don't bother. Aldi seems to be getting to grips with it better but low on fresh meat and tinned stuff.

Small independent Indian shops are still pretty well stocked, though some of the obvious stuff (red lentils, tinned chickpeas) are getting harder to find

Froze stuff pretty much empty in most places, no toilet roll. Massive queue for Iceland this morning. managed to get some meat from the butchers in the market who seemed to have reasonable stock still

Anyone else having issues with there parents? My Mum currently heavily guilt tripping the entire family to see them on mothers day (both 60+, dad with Asthma) My brother works in care and is surrounded by germs all day, other brother had his wife and baby written off with a bad cold all last week.

My mum also couldn't understand why a family friend was self-isolating (her mum is going through chemo atm)
