loads of brands do bars down to 38 - Deda have lots of choice. I would say stay clear of 'track' bars unless you are a sprinter, road bars will give you more options for comfortable hand positions and are available with differing amount of 'drop' to the drops :)

If you do look at Deda then watch out as they measure bar width outside to outside, not centre to centre like most other brands.

I wasn't so lucky! Didn't see what caused it, just saw someone go down 2 in front but didn't quite manage to swerve around his bike as it skidded down so I went straight over the top. Fortunately just cuts and bruises all round!

I must a been a few riders behind you, I managed to get around it though. I spoke to one of the guys that went down afterwards, he said that the line was concertinaing loads and he ended up going into the back of the rider in front.

    Yep, the whole thing.

I'm just under 5'10, and it's OK for me. You're right though, if you were 5'8 you'd probably need to have long arms/a shorter stem for it to fit.

Might be a bit big for her, I think it's 56cm, but can't measure it at the moment, other half's sister is asleep in the room it's in. Cotic website doesn't have geo for it as they don't make 'em anymore but it says a medium long is good for 5' 8 to 5' 11. I'll measure it in the morning.

    SOLD

Hi all, I usually lurk in the track forum, but I need to clear some space for a new project, hence the sale. I used this bike for commuting for a couple of years, then it ended up gathering dust first in a garage and then a spare room for a couple of years, so it needs some attention to get it running smoothly.

It came with Bontrager kit from Cotic, but it's now got a Surly chainring & sprocket, and the brake levers were changed to Tektro ones. There's a ding in the top tube, and there's about half a centimetre of lateral play in the rear wheel, which might mean a replacement is needed, or it might be fixable. The whole thing probably wants stripping down and regreasing & oiling. KMC chain is still good, and the rear tyre is brand new, bar tape is grubby and saddle could do with replacing.

    £80, buyer collects from SW2.

Wish I could have made it today, it was a lovely day for it.

May be a good idea, just to get comfortable/confident with riding on the track again.

    Yeah, that sounds sensible.
