    I had to take a detour off my trail run last night and into a pub, I kept thinking about this thread. Think I’m going through a “phase”.

    On one of my local routes in Manchester you can run in one end of a sainsburys and out the other, via the toilet. I’ve had to do that a few times.

    I've done about 3 in 2021 alone, I've had to stop eating porridge or overnight oats before running and switch to wholemeal bagels.

    Really interesting section in a Huberman Lab podcast about increasing your stress threshold by dilating your gaze, I was playing with it yesterday during a middle 4 mile session, not sure whether it was the right tempo to try it as it took a long time to reach the point where it was required. I am going to try with some 60 second hill sprints next week.

    Here's mine from a few weeks ago, sorry it's hard to read. I have a coach who sets the plan but its a mix of slow long runs, easy runs, and harder sessions like hills and intervals.

    I'll have a week in Austria from next Wednesday, hoping to make the most of it as I have the 3 peaks fell race in October. No quarantine this time thankfully so hoping to feel pretty good from day 1 or 2 in the mountains, felt so tired on the first day last trip so may need a day to acclimatise.

    Llangollen fell race completed today, knocked 30 minutes off last years time and didn’t throw up at the start and then hate the entire race, I was absolutely buzzing to finish as the last 3 or 4 miles were hurting.

    Has anyone listened to the Huberman lab podcast about the nervous system? Incredible, some episodes very relevant to running, I highly recommend.
