    Wagtails and Swallows this evening.

Not sure what was flying over the water?

    Sagan looking menacing.

So true about it being more complex than you think.

Thanks for your thoughts. Good news is I will have two full sets of paper now so I can experiment a bit before fully committing.

I'd not heard of 'sizing' or lining paper until it all started to go wrong honestly.

The instructions that came with the wallpaper mention sealing a wall if pourous, but I thought it would be ok with two coats of white paint to onto. How necessary is the lining paper?

Got away with yesterdays wallpapering nightmare as the good folk at Photowall are sending out a fresh set of paper foc.

Can anyone recommend something for sealing a newly painted wall to stop the paint from mixing with the paste again? Is a thin layer of paste applied first a good idea?

Having a first ever crack at wall papering today. The wall was originally a dark purple so I've done two coats of white paint since Friday to block out the paint behind.

Now with two runs of paper on the wall the wallpaper paste seems to be mixing with the paint and allowing the purple to come through. Is this going to resolve when everything is dry? Anyone else experience similar?

Not yet listened to this, could be bait.

Aren't there cars with tech to stop this kind of collision? Obviously better if the fleshy part behind the wheel slows down but worth considering.

It might pop up in the deTour podcast, Matt White seems to feature most days.

On the subject of shelving after looking at a lot of options we coughed up for some of the Ikea Bror stuff, being powder coated steel they aren't the cheapest but there's a chance they'll last.

Also, @SeƱor_Bear looking back at your bookshelves. The images for the bracket seem to show a lip that would limit the depth of the shelf, but in the photo you shared your shelf seems to extend beyond the bracket?

Boring myself now but does anyone have a sweet understairs shelving setup they'd like to share?
