So mid summer I picked up a bike for a mate, classic steel frame with flappy panel gear shifting, took two cocodamols for my recently cracked collarbone and rode it home from Kings X while really enjoyed looking at the numbers on the Vetta C-15 computer change.
I kept the computer and really appreciated its simplicity once I figured how to reset and adjust it. All I've ever really wanted to know when I ride is how far I've gone tbh so this computer inspired me to pick up a road frame. Thought it would also help me get off public transport and back into riding while my collarbone heals up.
Spent the last few weeks looking for a columbus max frame but thats looking like a bit of a myth for now, so ended up taking a punt on something on ebay. Going to pick it up tomorrow and hopefully all is as good as the owner claims it to be...
+1 Rep if you work out what it is from the title.
Concept is keep it classic but with a touch of modern. Frame is from 1989 (tbc). High end classic parts, Suntour Superbe Pro maybe, got some leftover sugino 75 carbon stuff I could also use, was thinking flappy gears but can't find anything that aesthetically pleasing tbh, Campag Shamal era stuff is prob a good shout, but DT shifters for the time being, Nitto compact bars and a set of nice wheels. 7-8 speed as I don't really see the need for more than 18 gears.
Photos coming tomorrow night if I can catch some light in the afternoon.
