I too got the email from dani, I don't see anything wrong with to be honest, if people are negging his product and he thinks it's unjustified he has the right to call out to his satisfied customers.
I bought a bike (vintage) from Dani back in April 2009 and have since sold it on to my mate.
I was a decent enough bike and was a good way for me to get into building and maintaining my own bikes which you can't really do from scratch.
The frame was decent and it rode pretty well. The cranks were admittedly a little ropey but dani was happy to replace them when they broke.
The service dani gives is top drawer and he is clearly really invested in his product. His vintage bikes, IMO, represent a decent alternative to getting some shitty OTP and was a good bike for my first DIY kinda bike. I need had any safety issues and neither has the mate that I've sold it on to.
