You hate derailleurs? Why?
I'm idle. I don't want to spend time cleaning, oiling and adjusting cables, which is a must because of my route to work - 6 miles on an old railway line, recently resurfaced by the council in a nice mud layer, then 11 miles on potholes.
I'm interested to see that the spread of gears is better on an iMotion than the Alfine 8. I don't tour, but day rides sometimes mean a largish pannier / backpack.
Why doesn't anyone sell an Alfine complete? The Interweb shows lots of Alfines without fittings, but no-one, including my LBS, knows what "fittings" are. Are they just bolts, or are we talking everything apart from the bare hub - disc, sprocket, cable, shifter, old Uncle Tom Cobbley and all?
