Thought it would be something like that. Thanks for filling in one of my knowledge gaps (there are many)
What was going on with Yates' handlebars today? At first I though the bar tape was coming loose in the drops, but then I noticed both sides match, is it some sort of electronic shifting wizardry that I do not understand?
thanks for the suggestions all.
I also sent him over these:
just in case I can tempt him with shallow rims and swanky hubs
Nice, I'll send the link over to him.
The 40mm was a rough guide from him, I'm sure shallower would be ok considering he wants alloy brake surface.
Anyone know anything about these guys? Spotted on some deep Google diving:
Yeah, sorry carbon fairing.
Basically alloy brake surface for all weather braking is key.
He has carbon rim brakes on his TT bike and they are mildy terrifying in the wet
I've been tasked by a friend to find him some new road wheels.
11 speed Shimano
Alloy rim/alloy brake tracks
Rider weight 95kg
Preferably semi aero like a 40mm deep rim but I'm not sure if this is a deal-breaker.
In stock and available is a deal-breaker though as he's currently without a rear wheel.
Pm on its way (thanks @spotter )
I like the look of this rack, the cage bosses on the underside seem like a good idea
I just realised that this is not fitting as a "viable alternative to racks and panniers"
Mine came from bike monger
They accidentally sent a normal one first time, if you can leave a note on the order it may be worth mentioning "for rack mount"
Cheers. Hopefully I'll leave it alone now. Maybe one more coat of the wife's posh matte black nail varnish on the clips when she's not at home
