Also, breadcrumbs! Totally forgot, but I think that was actually the original recipe. But I never have bread and always have oats.

Also should say, work best with better quality tinned beans. The cheap cheap ones tend to be a bit drier and hard, so don't mash as nicely

I think you can use flour, cooked rice, or anything that will dry the mix out a bit and bind it. I just always have loads of oats, and you don't really taste them once it's cooked

2 tins of beans, I like black beans and chickpeas but you can use whatever is handy. A small onion chopped as fine as you can. Oats, blitzed to a fairly fine flour but you don't have to get fancy, 50-80g depending how wet your beans are.

Mash the beans, add the onion and seasoning. Again, whatever you like. I usually use soy sauce, cumin, paprika and chilli. Add a generous amount, it'll take a lot of seasoning. Then add the oats a bit at a time until you can form burgers. Usually makes 4 big ones. Of you can just roll little patties for snack size. Then fry them until browned.

Fav sides for dinner and are stir fry broccoli and roasted sweet potato đź’•

Sausage rolls? I like to make mini bean burger bites, but not sure how well they'd keep. Maybe a nut roast type thing, sliced up?

Peanut butter/oat/coconut balls are my other go to. Or just a jar of peanut butter, I figure I can always find bread and bananas!

Have you tried the Vego bars? Milky choc with whole hazelnuts. Also M&S sometimes have a dark choc with whole hazelnuts in, which is also delish.

If anyone comes across vegan choc equiv of a fruit and nut bar, with whole fruit/nuts lemme know! Sick of the little shards options. Want a chunky boi!

I can second the Pulsin recommendation. I use the pea one, and it's great. Brown rice one not so much, had a weird aftertaste for me.

These are my absolute favs : https://minimalistbaker.com/vegan-gluten-free-black-bean-brownies/ usually bake them in a tray instead of the individual tins, and don't add the nuts. Super easy and really fudgy.
