Last year I went from a CAAD 4 (which was stolen) to a Carbon Synapse 2015. It won bike of the year a few times so thought I go for it. It was difficult to get used to the more upright riding position but it's more comfortable than the CAAD4 now I have it dialled in. One of the reasons I got it was to be able to fit mud guards in the winter. It's my commuter, trainer, sportive and tourer and does all these things quite well.

I do miss the more aggressive riding position at times but I can stay in the drops for longer on the Synapse without a sore back. I got mine from Paul's Cycles at a decent discount as it was the 2015 model in 2016.

Unfortunately I don't own any of their garments. However the the product pages for the jerseys say made by Endo Customs.

Thanks for the suggestion middleofnowhere, I've planned another ride for tomorrow to the Whitstable Oyster fest.

Didn't mean to high jack the thread, thanks for your patience and good luck go everyone taking part.

I love helping people, I don't need to give money to organisations to make myself feel like i'm contributing to society. There are many other facets to charity organisations I don't agree with on a political, social and economic level. Charity fundraising and events are so imbedded in our society now that I don't expect many people to understand this point of view.

Apologies for upsetting some of you. I sincerely did not think it was a big deal.

Personally I don't agree with charity organisations as a whole nor the whole fundraising that people participate in, i digress.

I would not want to cause a problem for the organisers, I was merely asking if people are able to do the route without all the faff. I am also not interested in a medals, but thank you for your resources all the same.

Apollo if this has been asked a thousand times before. I haven't been picked in the ballot this year, can I just turn up at the start line and do the route anyway? I wouldn't take advantage of food/drink stops just the closed roads. Has anyone done this before?

    Thanks apc,

The cable I am using isn't an official Garmin one, but it's been working fine until now, even when I push it hard. I will see if I can get an official Garmin cable to test and I'll let you know.
