Valid point, but I was merely stating that a fire in one part of a building will not cause the sprinkler system everywhere else to go off! Saying that, I did a quick Google and there is such a thing as anti vandal sprinklers
This company mention there use in the Asda case study, interesting also is a tower block refurb in Wales where the Welsh assembly has asked for sprinkler systems to be installed.
The block is one of the first high rise projects to benefit from the Welsh Assembly’s decision to install fire sprinklers in refurbished residential buildings.
Also, random link to fire safety systems anti tampering measures.
Edit: Dubai fire in Nov 2012, fire spread up the outside of the building due to flammable cladding, had a sprinkler system which stopped the spread of the fire to the inside of the fire. Zero deaths, partly thanks top the sprinkler system.
