Most of the trails are do-able on a CX but much slower and less fun unless you get your fun from willy-waving IMO.
Someone needs to research as to why there is only 1 female presenter out of 13 across GCN and GMBN

The gritters were out in south London last night preparing the hills for us
Train to Champery via Aigle is lovely, though not very practical if your skis are in Morzine.
PSV is lovely and I presume easy to get to from L'Argentière-les-Ecrins.
Otherwise as @Alan_tbt says, Mongenevre is just a short bus/taxi up the hill from Briancon with access to the whole Milky Way and Italian food and coffee!
I'm excited for March already!
