  Lettuce and cabbage leaves have been great for teething actually. Lots of cleanup but keeps him from savaging any cardboard he can find, which upsets his stomach if he eats it

  Oh he doesn’t actually want to eat most of everything he barks about, he just wants to be offered it so he can inspect it and then ignore it on the floor. Puppy has massive FOMO…

  Thanks @useless and @Chalfie - it's just my wife and I and neither of us feeds Ziggy in the kitchen, but he does take a keen interest in what we do there, so I think it must just be him cottoning on to where food comes from... He's a Lakeland terrier and just very curious and very stubborn, which can be either deeply endearing or endlessly frustrating depending on what he's set his mind to at a given moment.

  He also barks when either of us goes upstairs (where he's not allowed) and he can hear us moving around during the day, but doesn't move a muscle if it's late and he has already retired to his crate. He also doesn't complain if he's left alone and nobody is around to make a noise. I guess it's a pack instinct thing. We're working on it, in any case.

  Anyone any experience with their dog getting very bossy and barking if you’re not giving them attention? It’s in the kitchen specifically - we never feed him there but he knows that’s where his dinner comes from, so whenever I go to make a coffee or some food for myself he’ll bark at me demanding some of whatever I’m having. Bit confused where it’s come from given we never feed him in the kitchen…
