Before trying something more involved, try giving it a spray of GT85. I had a similar problem years back, took it to a Brompton dealer en route of my commute, and that's exactly what they did. The plastic can expand/contract and be rubbish. I then made it a routine part of my between service routine to spray/drop some thin lube. Eventually I switched to a Sturmey Archer shifter.

Yeah, the Brompton stuff looks a bit too industrial. I prefer the look of the H&H and P/T line influenced racks. Just look at your chpt3 -you're not gonna stick anything but the best-looking kit on it, are you? ;)
Omni-wheels are good but when I saw them on a friend's Brompton IRL there was something about them I didn't like. Also I remember discolouration from dirt/grime vs simple black or slilver/grey wheels. I think the H&H rear rack (with light bracket) is my best bet for rolling and gives load potential if I need it. I just want to see actual examples of something tied to it though. Haven't found anything so far.

How about this? Used a bacon strip (Muc-Off) with the needle thing at London Bridge. Some miles later in Walthamstow, I heard a pop and knew the strip had launched itself out of my tyre like a missile. Put a dynaplug in and problem solved.
