I think he's made it his mission to prove that yesterday can still be hot today. I recon he'll cherish that.
Don't know why I keep looking at the Kung/Madouas pair for FDJ and think they could do something interesting, if only go for a mad attack and burn out in a blaze of glory before the pointy end asserts itself once and for all

Might not be as straight forward - sometimes they put the arms-in-the-air photo of the previous year's winner to make it even more confusing..!
As said by just about everyone above there are some real big hitters that look by all accounts the hot favourites, but who are everyone's cheeky/unlikely side bets? There's a track record of riders springing up unexpectedly good performances to a podium finish or even a win (Benoot for example) and I always enjoy seeing lesser tipped riders in mix.

Sorry I meant I don't really know what that whole 'waves' thing means in real world terms...! But yeah, I'm Italian and grew up in Italy, so I'm sure my taste is probably much more 'traditional' or old school than that of others ๐ All jokes aside, it really does come down to individual taste, much like some people sweat by raspberry/bubblegum stouts etc and some would never drink a beer that isn't a lukewarm and only slightly bubbly bitter.
In other news, I'm hoping my 1Zpresso JX Pro might arrive this weekend and the coffee stock is starting to run low, so hopefully I'll get to pick up a nice bag of beans just in time! Will probably trek uphill to W Martyn in Muswell Hill, I've enjoyed their espresso blends and always come cheaper than other roasters. My only issue with them has been that when I've bough pre-ground for espresso they were too coarse and the shots ran too quickly, but that won't be an issue once the JX is in ๐

Haha sums it up to perfection for me. Then again, I'm not so into the first/second/third wave stuff and am pretty old school and very much Italian when it comes to taste. When in central London I'll normally pop into the Algerian Coffee Stores on the Old Compton Road when fancying a good coffee top up, great choice and tasty beans for cheaper prices. Not sure if they post though.

Thatโs interesting- Iโve tried a 2 sec preinfusion but it resulted in an extremely slow pour and bitter coffee as it was blasted at 9 bars, so that might be a better option.
Mine is a 2002, thicker walled non magnetic stainless with the logos printed on. Will need to have a look at the pump situation as regardless the year I suspect in a well cared for machine this might have been swapped out at one point or another..!

I'm sure there's a joke/pun in there but alas it's lost on me..!
@JB also guilty as charged ๐
