    New bits

-Front messenger rack from Ridewill.it. £38 delivered
    -Rear rack from eBay £10
-Blackburn Outpost frame bag large from Tweeks £50
-Cargo net and bungee cords from eBay £8

Rear rack needed some diy’ing as the only frame mount is for a mudguard I assume on the underside of the frame in the centre. Easy fix just bent one of the mount arms to shape.

Completely forgot about the amazing custom feed bag @Valentina made me a while back! I'll be testing this out properly in a few weeks but I love it. All the bags are beautifully made, customised to how you want them and she uses recycled inner tubes too! I went for the camo, purple, green and black to match the theme of the bike.

First test ride out today and feels great. Having to get used to a wider grip as I’m so used to my narrow bars on the fixed gear :).

More bits to come: Decals, front + rear racks, frame bag (+ possibly a few others), bottle cages, mud guards

Edit: Just got home and honestly I'm surprised at how smooth everything went. The highest gear (11-32) was actually nippy I wasn't expecting that. I haven't ridden a geared bike for many many years so it felt brilliant. The SLX shifter is super crisp and snappy and had no trouble moving through the gears. Only quibble is the brakes were a bit jumpy and squeaky.. @Tijs suppose that answers your question. Hoping after some wear they will settle down a bit

Run into an issue with the rear mech. As you can see in the lowest gear it’s only a couple cm away from the spokes. I can barely fit my finger in between. I’ve set the high, low and b screw and also straightened out the hanger. Do I need a shorter mech or will it sit further once the chain is on?

Cheap sh*tters I got from FMP for £10 the pair. Time will tell how they hold but I couldn't say no for that price :D

Spent the last 3 days learning how to build wheels. Fun experience but not without its frustrating moments. I measured everything twice and matched it with an online spoke length calculator and still managed to be off somehow. We got there in the end.

Loving the look of the City Jets. They're my stand ins for now. Maxxis and Panaracer's seem to be on shortage at the moment. I'll get to the brakes and gearing tomorrow.

Cheers mate and to you. Get yourself a post started so we can see the progress.

Re gears: I ended up with a 11-42 32t which I haven't ridden yet but I assume it'll be too light for any kind of substantial top end. But in any case I'll update here when she's on road and I've had a test ride.
