49x18 has worked really well for me. Enough to keep a good pace at Regents and also fun when commuting and wandering about. Wish I had a bit more top end speed and stuff for sprinting but it's a nice EAI cog and I can't be asked buying a new one.
I occasionally have on 49x15 for the track and random rides when I can't be asked to switch it over. When on the track I feel like a 14 might be better but idk.

I actually needs some new shoes, is that in the budget :/
I sometimes wonder how smaller £10k plus carbon bike makers stay in business, then I see threads like this (and laps at Regent's) and it starts to make sense
