I want to remove about 1.5" or so from my steerer tube... when I built the bike up i left it with plenty of wiggle room so I could find the right height for the stem... turns out I could have slammed it from the off.
Anyway, there's a star nut fit and it's right where I want to cut... so what to do?
Initially I thought to drill out the centre of the existing star nut and remove it, cut the steerer, then fit a new star nut... is that a bit much?
Or should I just knock the existing one down a bit further? (I've potential to screw this up I feel)
Thoughts/suggestions welcome 👍🏻
