i am a human man
due for delivery tomorrow.... excitement building!
Though I got stung on import duty, £1k 😦
I say "stung", I mean didn't get away with paying less than the correct amount... of course
And another, this one has the thru axle fork.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143650142020
Honestly, its like waiting for a bus to come along 🙄
Purple disc caad 12 on ebay, in a 54...
The only issue is the rim brakes, in dry weather they're absolutely fine, in the heavy rain I've remembered how comedically bad they are 😄
I've got a very modern gravel bike in the garage, but tonight I chose to ride the GT, no regrets 😎
I underrated them myself tbf, this has been a bit of an eye opener
Powder coated and new decals... no laquer... "battle ship grey" frame and "army green" fork... I wasn't a huge fan of the fork at 1st, but its grown on me
They've been powder coated... they were in a bit of a sorry state. I'd neleglected this bike for years, but they came up a treat tbf
ok, so i put some half decent tryes on this, a Brooks C15 saddle and more appropriate riser stem... i'm genuinely shocked at how much fun it is... i don't know why that's a surprise, but it kind of is!
OK, so i'm whoring this in the retro MTB thread too... but you know...
my old GT running modern(ish) 1x10 XTR shifter and derailleur and an 11-speed slx crank
right... just bought a bike from the US, the cost was $3,149.... import duties were £1,054.82
ouch tbf (but expected)
