With a combination of shims, spacers and adapters that i'm still struggling to understand, i managed to squeeze an adapter to fit an ahead stem. Besides the increased versatilty with the oversized clamp (for accessories, mounts and other stuff), i think the bigger cockpit really complements the chonk top tube/down tube aesthetic.
Other than that, i came back to indexed shifting and a 3x7 setup. I still have to put up a Fabric saddle and a non-qr seatpost clamp, trim all the cables and find a solution for the rear rim (which is completely toasted), but other than that the bike is in it's final stage.
