Here's mine, an Aiwa (remember them?) AM-F65. I think the AM-F70 was a step up from mine and had a backlit screen on the inline remote. I definitely remember the super fragile optical cable to get the best recordings (and automatic track division?).
I've been testing it with Audioslave's eponymous debut album, which was very contemporary to my use of the MD player, and still absolutely rocks. Pretty much all of mine were copied from CDs which obviously makes me a terrible pirate.

Haha, I'm another one staring at my old MD player (and hifi in the attic) wondering about booting it up again. It works fine plugged in to the mains, but would probably need a new custom battery from some genius tinkerer online (I've researched already, ~£30...) to go out and about with it. My wife just thinks I'm mad.

This is all round excellent. Bike, bags, trailer, the whole thing is top drawer. And you've shown that lots of silver bits can still work with black bars...
