Yes it's Griffin who really stretches them out a lot I think with e.g. characters he invents for the ad. Griffin has tons of energy to burn which is fine for the show, but I know other podcasts that zip through the ad read and still put a bit of their humour in there so I don't bother reaching for the skip button, whereas these BC ones end up going on longer than actual broadcast TV ad breaks sometimes.

Re: podcasts, I hate when hosts do their sponsored ads but decide they need to punch up the copy so much that it takes five times longer than it should. Blank Check is really bad for that so I'm just there tapping away at the +15s button over and over and getting more annoyed at their little skit.

I did this on one of my very first eBay sales, although I think they also somehow scammed me with a fake PayPal email saying I'd received payment from what I remember. It was some fiendishly tight Ann Demeulemeester jeans that I sent them for free so I hope those brought them nothing but discomfort!

Went to get some cheese from Neal's Yard on Essex Road yesterday and thought I'd try a cortado from Devotion a couple of doors down as I hadn't been before. I think I've been drinking 'just OK' to 'pretty good' stuff from coffee shops recently cos this hit me like a lightning bolt as soon as I took a sip; just phenomenally delicious. I have beans in the house so I didn't buy more but they have loads for sale from all over, including The Barn which I don't see that often in the UK.

Have stopped going to a bakery/cafe because the new guy they hired is unfortunately just crap at making coffee. Flat whites end up incredibly milky with barely any coffee taste (maybe he's just making them with a single rather than a double?). Got a black americano the other day to try to at least have the flavour of coffee and it was unbearably watery and tasteless. It's not a great loss because there's actually a better cafe basically next door to work (Moko Made), but I liked going to the bakery because it gave me a bit more time away from my desk and let me stretch my legs in the morning, and plus their pastries are also delicious. Maybe I'll do a round trip, get a pastry and then get a coffee at Moko Made but it seems rude when they also sell decent cakes.
I know the forum suggestion would probably be that there's nothing wrong with actually saying you're not happy with a product, but I don't think I can take the expression on this guy's face if I do that.

I got Thumper in the sales and only just checked it out. Fuck me is that a stressful sensory overload. Is it actually some sort of government project where if you S-rank every level they come and cut open your brain?
I was doing ok with a mix of B to S ranks on the first level's stages, and thought maybe as my wife was a musician and dancer she would naturally be better at rhythm games so asked her to try it. Never seen anyone so immediately repulsed by a game!

And then a gorilla that thrives on shark meat to deal with the shark? Wait, maybe it wouldn't fare so well...

New downstairs neighbours are producing a previously unseen level of recycling - they've apologised briefly but it's like they're feeding a family of six or something rather than a couple! Filled the recycling bin in two days after collection, filled one of the general waste bins with recycling, left a cardboard box full of it which got rained on and collapsed so the path got covered in rubbish. I have to run out with ours as soon as the collection is done otherwise I'll never get anything in there before it's overflowing; as it is we often have to have it stacked in the hall while we wait.

I have quite a few games I have my eye on but I'm determined to actually play some of the games in my queue! Have Dark Souls to properly try after Persona 5, plus OlliOlli World and Thimbleweed Park that I got and barely played earlier in the year.

As I'm at the office I'm gonna go and get a flat white in a minute to see if the foam spreads the taste across my tongue better - I noticed strong tea with milk and hot chocolate were the first hot drinks I started to taste again. I got a tiny hint of something this morning with my black filter cup but nothing particularly reassuring; it's weird because I can clearly smell the difference between the 2 packets of beans I have open (very dissimilar washed and natural) but there's just no real taste.
