Okay thanks, good to know - I think I'm going to go down the LD route. For reference, in case anyone wants to use Osbornes, (who have a tie in with LCC) they originally told me the success fee was going to be 25% but when I mentioned I was in discussion with a couple of other solicitors they called me back and said they could go down to 15% (or 10% if the opponent admits liability within 21 days) - I didn't push for this reduction at all. Anyway, I've decided to go for Leigh Day and will let you know how I get on.

Hi @hippy - did you get a decent payout with Leigh Day? All of the solicitors that I've contacted so far take up to 25% of the settlement apart from Leigh Day who take out some type of insurance product which means that if I win and the settlement is <£25,000 then I pay them c. £150 (if I lose then the insurance company pays them something). The cynic in me thinks that they won't fight very hard if that's all they get for their efforts. There's a real science to this...

Thanks a lot for all of your suggestions. I'll ring around and see who's keen and what cut they're going to take. I don't have any household insurance (another thing that's been on my to do list for years) so I think I'll have to pay for the solicitor out of the damages

Thanks a lot for you advice, Cornelius. Sadly I'm not a member of either cycling uk or llc so if anyone on the forum can recommend a solicitor (preferably not a fee based one) it would be massively appreciated.

What's the general forum consensus wrt going for a no-win-no-fee type solicitor vs doing it yourself? I was doored on the weekend and broke my collarbone. The police are involved, I have witnesses, they'll be an A&E report somewhere, so part of me feels as though it should be possible to do it myself. That said, I do buy in to the logic that solicitors might be able to recover more in damages and I imagine the admin involved in doing it yourself is enormous. Any thoughts?

Thank you so much for your help! Also, I'm pleased to announce that (at least at the moment) I'm not riding with a kitchen sink so will look to the 14g spoke options!

I'm looking to build up some wheels and would appreciate some help on a few queries:
    1) The rims I'm looking at have an internal rim width of 17.9mm and external of 25mm. Will that be okay for 25mm tyres? (I'm limited by guards)
    2) Generally speaking, for a road wheel how many spokes should I put in the front? (I'll have 32 in the back)
    3) For a strong set of wheels (with carbon rims) does anyone have any spoke recommendations?
    Thanks

Excuse the dredge. How are you getting on with the grooved graphene? Has it noticeably improved braking?
