I've got a crap old "dumb" trainer that I wanna set up again (with a view to upgrading if I can get into a routine with using it), but can't be arsed with Trainerroad/Zwift or paying for anything. I don't have a laptop but have the relevent sensors, a Wahoo ELEMNT and obvs I have a phone - is there anything I can use for free which will make me a few workouts I can follow on my phone?

yeah, @yepre this is my route! After a lot of tweaking years ago this ended up being my go to 200km (explainer: I made a route which passed Teapot Island, called it something like Niki's Teapot, after we rode it we discovered it need tweaking, so my pal John did some tweaks).

I also have another, to Rye but it's a bit climbier. Still nothing very bad.

    You'll be absolutely fine.

    but anything else?

    Snacks
    Layers
Battery pack if you're using a GPS and you think it might not last for however long you expect to be out

As everyone else has said going into winter be mindful of ice, and the temperature will feel much colder when you're outside all flipping day. Memories of freezing my tits off at petrol stations on winter audaxes.

I think 300s might be my favourite distance. Home in time for bed.

Kinda similar resulting brews I'd say. I don't think SPB will give you "improved" coffee over a manual pourover / Clever / Aeropress. What it has given me, is the ability to pop the coffee on the night before so it's ready when I wake up (good when you have a small child to sort out in the mornings, or other stuff to do). But also, that bit of it - grind coffee, water in dispenser, grounds in filter, assemble, press button, go and do something else - is making my slightly chaotic home life easier even if I don't use the timer. This morning I made 900ml, pottered round the house getting ready for the gym, drank 1/3 of it, by the time I'd got home my partner has helped himself to a cup and now I'm drinking the remainder while I start work (and post this). I wouldn't have had time to do a pourover before logging on this morning really.

Also, before the SPB I didn't have the ability to really make more than 2 cups at a time, so when we have guests I'd always spend about 30 fucking minutes making coffee for everyone. We have my parents here doing childcare one day a week and now I don't spend ages making drinks for everyone! It's just there in the pot!

Downside: I am getting through beans really quickly :/

Wow that's some difference innit. Might try for tomorrow.

I have to say I am flying through the beans here because of this new toy. I normally get though 1kg a month but I might have to increase that :/

here's the coffee I've ground for the Sage Precision Brewer just now

Actually tinkered with the mybrew settings and have managed to get a really nice cup with a long bloom time, smallish bloom volume, 98 degrees and low flow rate.

Yeah, I haven't moved it - I use the same setting (roughly) for all the pour overs I use.

Will tinker with some of the my brew settings I think, and get some Puly Caff.

Oooh I have some of these, thanks!

Nabbed a Sage Precision Brewer from Facebook marketplace for £40 last week. I've cleaned it but the whole thing has that stale coffee smell. Anything I can use to clean it to get rid of the smell for good?

Also need to experiment with the settings. Couple of times I used it on the gold setting resulted in slightly sour brews which I believe means under extraction? Do I need to brew finer? Currently somewhere on the AEROPRESS of my Wilfa Svart.
