    yeah, it's great

i've replaced the mount with a moon out front wahoo (/garmin) mount on both my bikes. you can also charge the moon on the go. it was my main light for all of PBP. if i lost it i'd not even bother looking for alternatives, i'd just buy it again.

I did get an email a few days later. Try emailing (rcrcbel at gmail).

(Though, not sure I am going to actually ride it anymore. My riding buddy is probably shelving cycling for the foreseeable, and I'm not sure this is something I want to do alone.)

I've been looking for a reasonably-priced, not hideous looking bolt on or magnetic top tube bag for a few months and finally Restrap have delivered:

Nice work. I think I'll be purchasing.

Looking for some nice mainly orange bidons please.

These are on sale from Twin Six (plus they're Purist, so best), but kinda wanted something sooner than they could send from the States.

trying to justify getting a dynamo wheel built up, but struggling with the cost of it all. i've done multiple tours, audaxes and one pbp with battery power (on the latter i carried 3 power packs, about 35,000mah of power), and i managed fine, though it was an almighty faff at times.

i have a couple of bikes i use on rides where a dynamo would be useful, one is QR, the other 100mm thru axle; both disc brakes. the QR bike is the one i'd probably use the most, and i've had a quote of ~£200 to have a wheel built up which would be almost identical to the specs of the rear wheel. that's with an sp pv-8 hub, i imagine if i'd want it to be swappable onto both bikes i'm looking at the more expensive pd-8x hub? then, what, £70 for a decent front light, and £72 for an igaro? and i'd still need a power pack anyway for emergencies, and battery lights for the same.

spendy, innit. someone please tell me how easy your life became on night rides / really bloody long rides to make my mind up.

The 60 All-in places are all gone. (What all-in means: see above.)

Entries starting 1 february are not all-in. That means that you can pick your options.
Maybe you want to sleep at the first manned control but not at the second or you want to eat at a control but want to ride on without sleeping there. Or maybe you just want bagdrops at the 2 manned controls and nothing else.
    Your choice.

At the beginning there will be no limit on food or bagdrops, but if the demand surpasses our possibilities (depending on how many volunteers we can get or the transport options we have) we may have to set limits and stop taking some options.

(from the org on YACF. doesn't really make sense though as what's to stop you picking all options including beds?)

this is very valuable stuff, cheers.

I've ridden in the Ardennes a couple of times so sort of know what to expect. not sure I'm quick enough for a proper sleep before the 555km control but good to know I really should have a proper lie down before the lumpy bit starts. I'd best get my lack of climbing ability sorted before September!
