looking for some advice on physical data storage, no cloud.
For research purposes, I am using a device that acquires a heavy amount of files (body scan).
At work, we reached a point where it is impossible to carry on moving around 250gb external drive, back up, empty the hard drive and re-connect again...and we want to go big.
Before asking Dr Google and losing my head around, what I need is basically one of this HD external tower with at least 12 to 20 TB per slot (we aim for having the double back-up of this data). One HD will be used to store the scans while the second HD will work as backup of the device and the scans themselves.
We need a compact system that can have a way to be locked at the device (yes, better stay safe than sorry :P ) with a metal wire or whatever system.
The budget is 600 to 800 pounds.
T in advance for your expertise and help.
