Yeah, you're right, I could have put in PayPal dispute, sent back on resolution, and let seller deal with the insurance. I've never actually done a dispute and I presumed you'd need to provide a chunk of evidence, but as it turned out I provided all that for parcel force anyway. I've claimed on shipping insurance before (as seller) and it was resolved in 5 days, buyer was happy as refund went directly to him. Parcel force however is terrible! I think the payout probably actually went through too, which is why seller decided to suddenly go all quiet - although maybe he'd do that too if it was rejected. Parcel force didn't tell me either way.

Well, the reason I didn't meet the terms of PayPal is because parcel force took it over 90 days to resolve the insurance claim (which I couldn't easily chase as they'd only work with the seller).

Not saying you shouldn't do insured or not use PayPal. Just saying it still doesn't work out sometimes.

As I said, probably still could have resolved it somehow but was well over it.

To be clear, wasn't an LFGSS seller.

Was just trying to make buyer (Z4k) feel a bit better...

If it makes anyone feel any better. I once received some forks which weren't as described. Seller claimed they must have been damaged in transit and opened an insurance claim with parcel force. Parcel force wouldn't deal with me, only seller, and by the time I got any resolution PayPal dispute had expired. Seller got a payout (I think) based on all the evidence I documented, and then when totally quiet, never responded again. I could have probably tried to get reimbursed but couldn't be fucked for £300 and the forks are still actually useable.

You can do everything right (tracked, insured, PayPal) and it still go wrong.

How much do people think a full SRAM Red Etap 11 groupset is worth? With hydro discs. It's a few rides old (less than 50km), basically new.

On eBay haven't found much by way of complete groups that aren't brand new in box and ££££££££ or missing key parts like the brakes.

Trying to figure out if it's worth moving to di2 as I'm more of a Shimano person and the frame came with the SRAM.

    Hi

    Few things for sale/giveaway:

    1. Exustar E-PR1 pedals. Light use with brand new cleats and bolts (Look Keo fitment). Used while I was waiting for my Keos to arrive, paid £30 on special, yours for £15

    2. Dia-compe shot lever, comes with an ano blue noodle. Will include the cable inner too, new, but cut down so short doubt it'll be useable. This was fitted to a bike but I decided to go road fixed so surplus to reqs and never been used. £̶2̶0̶ £15, see Condor have these on sale for £20 but note they don't come with the noodle which was £7 (got this from Condor)

    3. Digital multimeter I got from Robert Dyas, 'Draper' brand, works great but has no battery (went flat and I bought a new multimeter, I accidentally threw out the old battery without checking specs so you'll need to work out what fits). Gone

Woah, ok, that's even more than I paid for comprehensive a far more expensive car a couple of years ago (although I was over 30 too...). Any motorcyclists will probably have horror stories as well.
