I'll be standing in for @BareNecessities to lead a lovely end-of-summer offroad ride in Epping.
The vibe is trundling down leafy singletrack, regular stops at the teahut - not MTBbros on huge jumps.
Lots of options for bailout and refreshments.
You will need a bike with tyres 32 or wider, with a bit of tread.
The ideal bike would probably be a rigid mountain bike.
Bring the tools you need to fix your bike, and some cash for the teahut.
Will be leading a feeder ride out and back from Victoria Park/Hackney Wick area, all offroad.
Might be busy that weekend, but unconfirmed.
If I'm not there, I'm here.
Also wondering about @spotter @lowbrows @7Üp @zincfingers @giofox @Chak
and of course @amey who continues to deny himself the joy of epping
Would love to, but cracked the right radial head on Monday, so will have to play it by ear depending on recovery/actual ride date
EDIT: just saw the date. Almost 100% out for this.
ouch, heal up soon. more rides to come!
This looks like great fun but I will be dodging, looking forward to the pics!
big maybe, only got a gravé bike atm
man I would love to but going to be a hard sell train + bike :(
Use your e-cargo bike to take your mtb/gravel bike/hybrid there
you're on thameslink right? easy peasy connection to my ends and we can ride out
some cash for the teahut.
some cash for the teahut.
If you forget cash the place over the road accepts cards. I went there once, felt like I was cheating on Mandy.
Think I'll come for the first bit, then bugger off to Cambridge early afternoon.
Hope you enjoy I'm going to be away then sorry
@psg1ben you in?
Nope, I'm not around
Might try and get offroad elsewhere to calm the FOMO
should get a date in the diary for Swinley or Peaslake
It'll be October earliest for me
@Dogs - this is a Badgers ride, only one teahut is acceptable! :-)
thanks everyone for chiming in.
If you're reading this and we haven't met or you haven't been to Epping before, please consider coming along! we are a friendly bunch and it would be good to meet some new riders. All welcome.
Even people who are not at all sporty, very unfit, very very slow and can't get up the hills?
