Is registration absolutely necessary, or more just to give you a guide to expected numbers? Also, is there actually a link / event page anywhere or shall I just use this thread to send to others who might be interested?

Link to the registration is in the first post.
As discussed here in the run-up to previous The London Classics, riding without registering could theoretically compromise the whole event, though of course it's run on open roads whereon you are at liberty to ride. But yeah please register.
