I've got a DF3 which came with an unbranded BB and very wide Q factor crankset, and separately a 24mm Rotor track BB. I'm on the lookout for a new crankset with a narrower Q factor that I can race with.
I'm currently tempted by the Miche Pistard Air, and the Vision Track Crankset, as they look so aero. The spindle diameter for the Vision is 30 mm, so I will need to get a new BB regardless, but for Miche Air, it is 24 mm.
My question is, has anyone tried using the Rotor Track 24 mm BB with the Miche Air crankset? (on Miche's website it says to only use Miche BB, which presumably people don't so). I think the rotor BB has narrower shells than other BB, so worried that might make things difficult.
Also, does a 30 mm spindle vs 24 mm make any noticeable difference really?
And finally, are these aero cranksets worth it? Does anyone have strong opinions about these particular ones? or for the same price would I be spending my money better by buying another BB/crankset combo instead?
TIA
