I stayed at my friend’s place in Stockwell and the whole sky was filled with a burnt plastic flavour smokey hazy from 13 floors up. Not great in this heat with no breeze.

Hadn’t realised it had reignited, I passed it on the train on Saturday afternoon and it looked burnt out but noticed smoke in the distance when I looked out my window in SE19 later in the evening.
Wonder if it Will be rebuilt? -

We could smell burning rubber in our Olympic Park office, on Friday afternoon. I bet it was this.

No smell on the way home tonight. Burst water pipes everywhere as they increased the pressure for the LFB engines. Need to find a new route to nursery as the Shakespeare LTN was it.

Friday at 0200 a rubbish mid-way station of some sort near Herne Hill caught fire, requiring 100 fire fighters to control. Since then it’s been reigniting often, sending a thick grey haze of burnt plastic as far as East Dulwich. I went by at dusk and it didn’t quite look like The Mist, but it wasn’t far off, except it smelled like burning plastic and chemicals.
Anyone affected by it? The Saharan dust cloud was already adding reds and browns to the air, but it’s pretty clearly grey in the air.
