Went 44x19 for 63.2 in the end. Happy to spin my way around until my legs can handle the 49x19.
Can't believe I used to mash my lo-pro up the hills of newcastle at 52x16/17. The folly (and power) of youth! -

happy new bike day! hope it rides as good as it looks!

Nice build!
Just wondering if that chainguard shouldn't be lower and be covering the chain? Now your trousers can still get stuck between the chain and the guard -

Yeah, I might try and wiggle it down a bit, it’s quite a tight fit on this frame. It’s obviously designed for tourers with long chainstays.

Not the greatest illustration of bike fit due to baggy tee, but fuck me it feels nice. Paint job is so much nicer in the flesh too.
I’m a happy man!

Main notes are that it’s both comfortable and responsive. Feels absolutely planted. Twitchy enough to be fun, but upright enough to not be a nightmare. Flat tops on the bars and the cambium tape work really well. Glad that the bars are more compact than they look in the photos.
Going to take it for a proper ride tomorrow clipped in and see what it’s like. I must confess that it feels like it’ll go up hills way better than I’d expected, despite the gearing. Might just send the 44t back.
Very pleased!

Looking forward to first ride report, hopefully you'll have the weather for it, we're forecast rain and thundery spells.
Nice bit of sparkle in that paint. -

Wehay! Glad to have played a minor part in turning that bruised and bloody frown upsidedown.

@jontea and @snottyotter - I’m still trying to figure out how to get some forum dedications onto the frame. Feels like it’s been a community effort in some respects!
Don’t think the front tyre has sealed that well. Gonna pump it to 70psi and leave overnight as it appears to be leaking some sealant between rim and tyre. Any other tubeless advice? -

Great stuff. Bike looks ace. Long may it bring you joy and good riding times.

Ride it.

A "touched by snottyotter" sticker would be great, but also a lie as I got it sent direct.

Looks fucking great! Enjoy!

Lots of slowly rotating the wheel so the sealant can get all over the inside
-
• #220
Ah cool, just pumped it up extra, gave it a ride around, will give it some slow rotations and see how it is in the morning.
Thanks!

Dry spell this morning when I was out with Mini Nef, and the. Torrential rain and thunder since :(
Hopefully better weather tomorrow.
The front tyre seems to have sealed at least. -

Maiden voyage today. Nipped out for a quick 20 miles. A pure joy to ride. Comfy but sharp handling.

Happy days.
A fine bicycle, just needs a set of mudguards. -

Oh and a Carradice Audax on a bagman sport.
-
• #225
Yeah I’ve got a couple of Carradice to try (including the one you kindly sent me!) - frame bag was a quick fix to get me out the house.
Not sure how to mount bags on a flite. Might need a frame or mount of sorts.

65 is the way. It’ll let you get up stuff like whitedown and spins nicely on the flat.
Replace whitedown for your hill of choice of 10%ish or more.
