• Not had any luck with my lbs, so asking here. I'm after a pair of the plastic spacers that new bikes often come with to prevent the stays and forks being compressed... 100mm up front and 130mm rear..

Travelling to the south of france on the weekend with my bike and would love a set of these to help protect my frame... please dm if you can help me out... will need posting as I'm just moved to Cornwall

  • I read this that you were looking for a plastic fork

  • If you are stuck you can make wooden ones out of some batten
Or use a qr with some plastic pipe (boiler overflow pipe works well)

  • Or if you don’t have a plastic pipe just get a kitchen towel core and wrap it in duct tape

  • Cut down a broom stick and drill a hole through it

  • If you are stuck you can make wooden ones out of some batten

Is this to make a spacer or a fork?

  • Find a dead set of wheels and save the hubs?

  • I have a front one for sure if you want me to stick it in post? Rear perhaps too, but let me check. As others have mentioned above, you could also cut a piece of wood to stick it in between the rear?

  • Cheers all. Well aware of DIY solutions and have done this in the past with success but would prefer plastic spacers designed for the job in the first instance.

  • I've just given away about half a dozen of these in a bulk lot, all came from the bottom of boxes I've grabbed from the back of my local Halfords. Give them a try or a LBS if you've one near.
