Does such a thread exist before I put some information in here???
Wanted to add some info to help others when looking to change wheels / tyres onto older bikes, I had a bit of hassle getting the right combination to fit into a mark one Cervelo S5. With ‘new’ wider rims it opens up the options somewhat, but spent ages digging on the web to find the information!!
Mavic published a table detailing that compatibility. Can’t seem to find it, but it’s out there. 19mm rims had the best range iirc.
It was more the tyre model / carcass size and actual dimensions on specific rim size I was referring to, rather that ETRTO
I’ll put a few on here and see if anyone else needs/can add to the information, this could mean a sudden thread death, or very useful, I’m just not sure 🤣
Came about when looking what tyres sized 23c were available in tan wall, and there wasn’t must about. Turns out 25c in some brands are smaller.
Note Vittoria 700 x 23c, other 25c
All mounted to 19mm internal width rim -
Continental GP5K 25c (64mm wide unmounted carcass width)
Schwalbe One 25c (68mm wide unmounted carcass width)
Vittoria G+ 2.0, 23C (70mm unmounted carcass width)
