  • I would leave the gearing. 40-42 is nice when you're riding with all your gear in the Pyrenees or so.

  • I'd even scale down to a 38t for touring... Defo better to be under geared than over geared.

  • Quick overnighter to Kent the last couple of days. New position feels a huge amount better, still need to get the cleats in just the right spot as on the first day I nearly exploded my knees.
    Drivetrain needs a lot of work... Shifting is fine but my god it was loud and shreddy.
    Also dynamo is top priority, I'm over worrying about whether my lights/garmin have enough charge to get me to where I am going.
    Drivers were surprisingly not too bad out there, although nearly got hit by a car 10 meters from home and completely lost my cool... lets hope they are not one of my neighbours after some of the stuff I said to them. 😵💫

    Also moving down to 3 days a week until the end of my employment so much more time to ride.
    Been feeling absolutely trash on the track recently and it's really getting to my head so I'm happy I've got more time to ride on the road where I'm feeling considerably stronger.
